WASECA, Minn. —
It could have been worse for a 42-year-old woman suspected of burglarizing a home. She was spotted inside the house by a shotgun-wielding homeowner, who used the gun to knock her down instead of firing away.
The homeowner's blow knocked her to the floor. She then got up and ran outside.
The man gave chase and yelled to get the attention of an off-duty police officer, who chased after the woman and detained her about a block away. Stolen items were found in her possession.
Further investigation showed theburglar had removed some items from the home and was continuing to gather more when she was interrupted by the homeowners, a Waseca police said.
She has been charged with five burglary-related felonies with bail set at $50,000.
