MANKATO, Minn. — A “vulnerable” 18-year-old boy who was talked into joining a team of traveling magazine salesman has been found unharmed.

Angelina May received the call she had been praying for Wednesday morning.
A Mankato police officer called to report May’s missing son, 18-year-old

Brandon Lee Nordgaard, had been found at a hotel in a nearby town.

“I couldn’t believe it when I got the call,” she said. “I couldn’t process it right away. We had a prayer service at church last night and the pastor said, ‘When a lost sheep is found we all rejoice.’ Boy do we have a lot of rejoicing to do.”

Investigators were able to tie Nordgaard to a group of traveling magazine salesmen through a telephone call that had been made from Nordgaard’s apartment.

Another officer, who returned to work Tuesday, remembered taking a call about boys fighting at a motel. Using that lead, police were able to find out the group was staying at a hotel in Plymouth, Minn. They were planning to leave for Florida in a couple days.

“… So the Plymouth Police Department paid a visit and, sure enough, there was Brandon,” May said.
