Good luck strikes twice for tornado survivorTornado Sidebar CNHI News Service Joplin, Mo. - Gayla Spon of Galena lost her car in the Joplin tornado but not her luck. She won two storm-recovery raffles over the weekend and now finds herself in possession of a small all terrain vehicle and a pickup truck. "I told a friend that I've been praying for a new car," said Spon. "I guess God has a sense of humor." She won the mini-ATV in a chamber of commerce raffle, and the pickup in a fire department raffle. "Never in a million years did I think I would win," said Spon. "I just buried my head in my hands and started crying in disbelief." |
