Man run over at gas stationCNHI News Service GREENUP, Ky. — An 88-year-old man was killed when he was accidentally run over after leaving a convenience store at a gas station. Charles Wampler, of Unionville, Ohio, stumbled when he left the store and landed in front of a car, which was parked near the door. The driver of the car, Tammy Jarrell of Greenup, told a deputy she felt a thump when she pulled out. She said she had returned to her car and hadn't seen Wampler lying on the pavement. Wampler, who was accompanied by his wife, was about to return home to Ohio after visiting family members here. Authorities reviewed video surveillance tapes that recorded the accident. --- |
