Voices of the Voters: Their Own WordsIn the following videos, undecided voters discuss the presidential candidates, the issues that matter to them and how they will make up their minds. Robert Moritz, Carthage, Mo.Moritz, 33, is a software engineer and political centrist. He says he is leaning toward Republican Sen. John McCain, "but I'm also looking at the liberals and the independents." Video by The Joplin Globe Harold Hjelmeland, Kokomo, Ind.Hjelmeland, 71, is retired from the U.S. Air Force and a tractor truck manufacturer. He is an independent conservative and registered Democrat who has not decided who to support for president. "I vote for the man - his values, goals, stands on the issues - and never a given party," he says. Video by the Kokomo Tribune Hannah Greenlaw, Salem, N.H.Greenlaw, 18, is a nursing student voting for the first time in a presidential election. She is a conservative and registered independent who is still making a decision about the candidates, guided largely by their views on the war in Iraq, taxes and abortion. Video by The Eagle-Tribune Alec Bernard, Derry, N.H.Bernard, 18, is a freshman biology student at St. Anselm College who plans to vote in his first presidential election on Nov. 4. A moderate and registered independent, his biggest concerns are national security, the economy and U.S. foreign policy.
