On March 25, 2015, around 3,000 marchers participated in a commemorative march starting at Montgomery's City of St. Jude and ending at the Capitol Building in Downtown Montgomery, Ala., reenacting the final leg of the 1965 Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights March lead by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Once at The Capitol, marchers, along with scheduled guests, honored civil rights martyrs and remembered the legacy of the past while expressing the importance of civil rights for all. Speakers Rev. Dr. Bernice King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Peggy Wallace Kennedy, daughter of former Alabama Governor George Wallace, were also in attendance.
